Academy of Art University Athletics

Freshman defender Sam McKay helped lead the Academy of Art men's soccer team to its second straight shutout win Saturday versus Dominican (Calif.) with a strong defensive effort that included having to play a man down for more than 70 minutes.

After a red card was issued to ART U in the 17th minute with the score still tied 0-0, the Knights ramped up their defensive effort and finally broke through with a goal in the 53rd minute before tacking on an insurance goal for a 2-0 PacWest Conference victory at CCSF.

Following the ejection, the Urban Knights fought off three shots from the Penguins and still managed to outshoot them 8-3 in the half. The score would stay tied at zeros into the break.
