Junior Lucia Zavarcikova went a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles during the week, helping lead the No. 11 Academy of Art women's tennis team to a weekend sweep on the road in Southern California over two nationally ranked regional opponents.

Friday at No. 18 Azusa Pacific, Zavarcikova defeated Valeriia Kashina 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles after teaming with senior Jenny Johansson to win 8-5 at No. 2 doubles. The Urban Knights would go on to win the match 7-2.

Saturday the team took down No. 22 Cal State LA 6-3 thanks in part to another win by Zavarcikova at No. 2 singles (6-3, 7-5 over Sonia Landeros). The momentum really swung in the Urban Knights' favor when Zavarcikova and Johansson emerged victorious in a close, 9-8 (7-5) win at No. 2 doubles, giving ART U the 2-1 advantage heading to singles.
