At the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, sophomore Hannah Hensley put together a heptathlon performance worthy of All-American honors across two days of action.

The 2017 PacWest Female Field Athlete of the Year delivered a seven-event score of 5,134 points for seventh overall with her biggest highlight an individual victory in the high jump after clearing a 5-10 (1.78m) bar to match her personal best as well as the program record.

She opened the first portion of the heptathlon with a 14.64 in the 100m hurdles, taking 11th before her high jump talents took her up to second. A personal best in the in shot put, 28-8.25 (8.74m), made her seventh before day one ended with her 25.95 in the 200m which made her sixth. A 18-10.75 (5.76m) mark in her first long jump attempt held her position and a bit of déjà vu came in the javelin where the sophomore had her best distance, 104-3 (31.78m), on her opening attempt. Following a grueling 800m finale where Hensley finished ninth at 2:25.16, she was able to hoist an All-American trophy in seventh overall.
