In her first action of the season, freshman outside hitter Kimiah Johnson quickly became a vital component. In the D2 West Region Volleyball Showcase, Johnson turned in multiple career-highs along with a double-double in the Urban Knights' 3-2 win over tournament host SF State.

Career numbers began in the match against Alaska where the Web Design & New Media major tallied 11 kills and 13 digs then, later that same day, Johnson nearly reached double figures once more with nine kills and eight digs versus Cal State Monterey Bay. In the Sept. 9 pairing with the Gators, the Fresno native unloaded a new career-high of 16 kills plus 11 digs in the Knights' win over SF State.

Johnson would complete the week with averages of 2.86 kills and 2.57 digs per set.
