Ed Jackson

Ed Jackson completed his third year as head women's volleyball coach at the Academy of Art University in 2015.

Showing improvement in each of his seasons at ART U, the Urban Knights went 13-15 under Jackson during a 2014 campaign that saw them finish eighth in the Pacific West Conference. The year was highlighted by ART U's first-ever victory over California Baptist, a five-set triumph, a 6-1 record against Bay Area competition, and the program's first AVCA All-America Team Honorable Mention in outside hitter Melissa Brum.

In 2013, Academy of Art won four of its first eight contests and later rattled off three straight victories at home hosting PacWest Hawaii schools en route to an 11-17 overall record. The Knights captured the program's first AVCA Team Academic Award that season and would see two of its athletes recognized with All-PacWest honors at the end of the season.

Highlighting Jackson's debut season with the program in 2012 was a five-set victory over Humboldt State in the preseason and a 3-1 win on the road at Dixie State in PacWest play. ART U, 8-18 overall, would produce a pair of All-PacWest honorees that year.

As the associate head volleyball coach and recruiting director at William & Mary from 2003-07, Jackson implemented a training program that lead to a 22-win season in 2005. Over that time he also coached nine CAA All-Conference selections, and was undefeated (3-0) as acting head coach for the Tribe. Jackson was also the assistant coach and recruiting director at Fresno State, where he developed five WAC All-Conference selections and recruited the Bulldogs first Capitol One Academic All-American in Cecilia Agraz.

His recruiting skills have been widely recognized, as displayed by his position as recruiting coordinator at the past two schools he has worked at. At William & Mary he recruited his first AVCA Honorable Mention All-American, and at Fresno State he brought in two AVCA Under Armour High School All-Americans to play for the Bulldogs. PrepVolleyball.com recognized his first recruiting class at Fresno State as one of the top 100 in the country.

At UC Santa Barbara prior to William & Mary, Jackson was part of a team that finished the 2002 season ranked eighth in the nation as the Gauchos were crowned champions of the Big West Conference. That team also boasted two AVCA All-Americans and five Big West All-Conference selections.

Jackson attended Sacramento State and received a BA in Psychology, and then went on to graduate with a MA in Physical Education and Sports Administration from Eastern Illinois University.
