San Rafael, CA -- The Academy of Art women's volleyball team traveled across the bay to San Rafael Wednesday evening and extended their winning streak to five matches in row by defeating Dominican University.
The Urban Knights won the match in three sets (25-18,25-19,25-21) with the help of sophomore outside hitter
Dan Yang who had another breakout match finishing with 18 kills. Freshman setter
Alexandra Leja also had a stellar game dished out 23 assists and had three aces while freshman setter
Olivia White added 17 assists.
Head Coach Marcus Young commented on the game stating, "Our hitters over-powered Dominican."
He also added, "Our serving kept them out of system and they had a hard time matching up with our power."
For Dominican, who lost in the last meeting 1-3, Gabby Pecora had nine kills on 25 attempts and Jacqueline Woodall dished out a match-high 24 assists.
The Urban Knights are now gearing up to make their trip to Hawaii where they will take on the four Hawaii schools in the Pac-West Conference.
