In only their 2nd tournament in Academy of Art University history the men's golf team ventured to the state of Arizona. In Arizona they faced off under the hot sun against fellow pac-west competitors, Grand Canyon University, as well as many CCAA teams like San Bernadino and Cal State Monterey Bay to name a few. The tournament was hosted by Grand Canyon University at Estrella Golf Club. It consisted of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
Matthew Garcia lead the Urban Knights shooting 78, 74, 76 for a total of 228. Coach Aud commented, “Matt is a leader both on and off the course. Always arises to the occasion.” Erik Majzner was not far behind shooting 84, 75, 77 for a total of 236. Also playing for AAU was Stuart Favretto shooting 240, David Carney shooting 255, and Ryan Klein 256.
AAU as a team took 18th place in the tournament. Next week they will travel to Chico State.
