put up some impressive numbers during the Urban Knights' two days of action in Humboldt State's Lawrence DeBeni Tournament and has earned a spot on the Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Tuesday, Dec. 29, for games contested on Dec. 14-20.
Although Academy of Art University men's basketball suffered a pair of losses in the tournament,
Burnett averaged 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game during the week. In the thrilling 63-58 loss to Chico State on Dec. 19, he posted a season-high 16 points along with nine rebounds (five offensive), four blocks, and two assists.
Burnett was instrumental in Academy of Art taking a 30-28 halftime lead and came up with some important plays in the second period to keep AAU close.
Burnett's rebounding figures were tied for eighth in the PacWest and he was ranked 14th in scoring. He scored 10 total field goals (10-of-14) over the two games and his 71.4 shooting percentage was also good for fourth in the league.
This is the first selection to the PacWest Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll for
Burnett.
