The Urban Knights were overpowered by pitching and proved to be no match against the Seawolves. The Urban Knights only managed one hit in the game and ended up losing with a final score of 7-0.
Neither the Academy of Art University defense nor offense was up to par on the game. And their pitching was not enough to stop the strong Sonoma State offense. The Seawolves jumped out to an early lead by putting three runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning. From there they took control of the game and never looked back. The Seawolves added to their lead by posting one more run in the second, and three more runs in the third. After that, the Urban Knight defense settled down and they were able to hold the Seawolves' offense scoreless for the remainder of the game. But the damage was already done.
The Urban Knight batters were shut down by Sonoma State's pitching. Their only hit of the game was a double to right center field off the bat of Shampayne Clay. She would advance to third on a wild pitch, but her teammates failed to bring her in. Clay would be the only base runner the Urban Knights had in the game, until the top of the seventh when Alana Aweau was hit by a pitch. With no offense to answer back to Sonoma State's lead, they Academy of Art University lost with a final score of 7-0.
