THE WEEK AHEAD:
The Urban Knights picked up their 11th win of the season Wednesday afternoon when they played Notre Dame de Namur in a single game series. Prior to picking up their 11th win of the season, the Knights dropped a 0-7 decision to No. 6 nationally ranked Sonoma State University. The Knights hoped to repeat history by knocking off a nationally ranked team, but the sheer pitching power of Sonoma State's Lindsay Emmel proved to be too much for the Urban Knights to handle.

LOOKING BEYOND:
The Knights have just three more match-ups before closing their 2009 season. They take on Holy Names University on Sunday April 19, Patten University on April 22, and close out the season with Chico State University on April 25.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS
The Holy Names University Hawks are 19-11 on the season and have won their last eight games. Their last two wins came against Menlo College, a team which the Urban Knights faced on April 8th splitting the series winning the first game 8-3 and dropping the second game 4-5. Offensively the Hawks are led by Valerie Briones who in 28 games has stepped up to the plate 89 times and is batting an average of 0.371 and a 0.393 slugging average. Rachel Martinez has a team high 21 RBIs and has a 0.542 slugging average and a .357 batting average. On the mound for the Hawks is Stephani Fairclough, she has pittched 100 innings and has a 1.74 ERA.

SCOUTING THE LADY LIONS
The Patten Lady Lions are 5-20-1 on the season. More information coming soon.

LAST SERIES RECAP:  ARGOS
The Academy of Art University's softball team played a single game against Notre Dame De Namur University on Wednesday afternoon. The Women were originally scheduled for a double header, but due to an injury-plagued Argonaut team they kept it to a single. The two teams were equally matched, but the Urban Knights battled back to take the game from NDNU with a final score of 2-1.
Ericka Ames was in the circle for the Academy of Art University. She pitched a very good game going seven innings pitched, giving up five hits and only one run. Ames had no walks, one hit batter and four strikeouts on the day.
For the Academy of Art University, Alana Aweau had a very good day at the plate. Aweau went 3-3, with two doubles, a walk and a run scored. Ashley Roy also did well going 2-4 with a double and Crista Sykes finished the day going 1-2 with a walk and a run scored.
