Junior outside hitter
Dan Yang (Beijing, China/Beijing 5th Sports School) has claimed the first Pacific West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week honor in Urban Knight history.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 14, for matches contested from Sept. 7-13.
Yang led AAU to a 3-1 record by hitting .361 and averaging 4.39 points per set - both tops in the PacWest for the week. Yang posted 31 kills, 5 block solos, 3 aces and a block assist in compiling her 39.5 points. She averaged 3.44 kills per set to rank
second in kill average for the week.
She was joined by
Amy Bush (So., 6-3, MB, Yucaipa, CA/Yucaipa) who was selected to the PacWest Volleyball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll ... Bush led the PacWest in service ace average for the week (1.00)...averaged 3.72 points per set to rank fourth for the week...totaled 33.5 points on 21 kills, 9 aces, 5 block assists and a block solo...ranked sixth in hitting for the week (.333).
