Men's Golf Finishes 16th at GCU Fall Invitational


Final Round Results

ART U dropped one spot in round three to finish the Grand Canyon University Fall Invitational in16th place out of 18 teams.

Due to inclement weather, play was suspended during the second round as lightning in the vicinity prompted the games committee to pull players from the course in a nearly one hour delay.

Individually,
Matt Garcia led the team after 36 holes with a two round score of 151, T25th. On the final day Garcia shaved three strokes off his round two score, shooting a three over par-75. His 226 total score garnered him a T26th place finish.

Overall, Western Washington took the tournament, their total team score of 864 was a good 20 strokes ahead of the next two teams. Host Grand Canyon and Colorado Springs finished tied for second (884). Dylan Goodwin earned medalist honors with a 6-under-par peformance, shooting an impressive 63 in his opening round. He shot a 77 in his second round and wrapped up with a round of 70.
 
Erik Majzner's three round 230 (76-76-78) placed him in a four way tie for 41st. Stuart Favretto finished tied for 70th after carding a combined score of 237 (78-80-79). Carlos Nones shot 80-91-85-- 256 to finish 86th. While Tom Krepp rounded out the group with a tied for 88th place finish. Krepp carded an 85-90-83--258 over three rounds. 

The Academy of Art men's golf club will wrap up their Fall season Oct 11 - during the InterWest Wildcat Classic hosted by Chico State.
