San Francisco, CA --- For the second time this season, senior outside hitter
Dan Yang has been named the Pacific West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 4, for matches played from Sept. 27-Oct. 3.
Yang led the Urban Knights to a 2-0 week with a pair of victories at Dixie State by topping the PacWest in total kills (42) and ranking fourth in kills per game (4.20). She also ranked fifth in scoring for the week, totaling 46.5 points (4.65 per game average) on her 42 kills, two aces and five block assists.
The senior was an instrumental key to the Urban Knights success on the road. Yang paced the Urban Knights a 19 kill performance in the first match, and then followed it with a match high 23 kill game the next night.

Two more ART U athletes received PacWest Top 10 bids, in
Melissa Cheng and
Leinani Keanini. Both athletes have been a consistent force for the Urban Knights and have played a major role in their accomplishments in PacWest play.
Melissa Cheng topped the PacWest in assists (93) and ranked fourth in assists per game (9.30) for the week. The sophomore has already accumulated 500+ assists on the season and is well on her way to besting her previous season. ART U's final match in St. George saw
Cheng notch her third 50+ assist match (54) finishing just four shy of her career high, 58.
Leinani Keanini ranked second in overall digs and fourth in digs per game (5.20) for the week in the PacWest.
Keanini has been a tremendous help for the Urban Knights, as Head Coach Allison Magner knows that she can count on
Keanini to sacrifice her body for the good of the team. Lei put in a career high performance in the Urban Knights last match against Dixie State, the junior finished the night with 28 digs (her fifth match with 20+ digs).
