San Francisco, CA- The Academy of Art University softball team had four players that were named to the PacWest weekly Honor Roll for the week of February 1st-7th, and one player whom was also named to the Honor Roll for the week of February 8th-15th. Senior
Shampayne Clay, and juniors
Alana Aweau,
Jayme Stewart, and
Ashley Lokey were the four players to recieve honors in the first week of the season, while
Ashley Lokey was also honored for the second straight week.
In the first week of the season, senior
Shampayne Clay batted a .375 in the first two games against Stanislaus. In those two games Clay went 3-8 with two doubles, four runs batted in, and a .750 slugging percentage. She was also 2-2 in stolen bases.
Junior
Alana Aweau batted .500 in the games against Stanislaus. She went 4-8, with a home run, two runs scored, and four runs batted in. Aweau also impressed with a .875 slugging percentage, and a .500 on base average.
After the double header against Cal State Stanislaus, junior
Jayme Stewart posted a .500 batting average. She went 3-6 with a double, one run scored, three runs batted in, and a sacrifice fly. Stewart concluded the week with a .667 slugging percentage and a .429 on base rate.
Junior
Ashley Lokey stood out from her teammates as she received honors for both weeks of the season thus far. In the first week, Lokey was recognized for batting a .500 against Cal State Stanislaus. She went 4-8 with three runs scored, and one run batted in during those two games. For the second week of the season, Ashley was honored for batting a .467 in five starts for the Urban Knights. She was 7-15 with a double, five runs scored, and was 5-6 in stolen bases. Lokey also posted a .533 slugging percentage and a .556 on base average, while recording three walks.
Ashley Lokey was also named to the First Team All Tourmament for her play in this past weekend's Desert Stinger Tournament.
Even after all the awards from the first two weeks of the season, the Urban Knights are ranked in 5th place in the PacWest standings. They sit with a better record than four other PacWest teams, and have an overall record of 3-5-1.
