Bakersfield, CA -- The Academy of Art men's golf team finished in 11th place out of 13 teams after posting a final team score of 925 today at the CSUB Elco Invitational hosted by CSU Bakersfield at Seven Oaks Country Club.

Erik Majzner led the way for the Urban Knights on the course over the two days of play. Majzner ,who shot for par in his third round, finished 14th out of 70 golfers.  Majzner shot five over par and had a combined score of 221, which was just 12 strokes shy of the leader.

Matt Garcia shaved three strokes off of his second round score of 79, to finish the third round shooting four over par (76). He improved two slots from his first day to finish tied for 35th with a 229.

Stuart Favretto dropped six spots to finish day three tied for 47th in the 70-player field after shooting an 78 in his final round for a total of 232. Dave Carney rounded out the group with a tied for 63rd place finish and a 243 final.

CSU Stanislaus took the top team spot with four players in the top 10 for a combined score of 868 (+4). Host CSU Bakersfield featured the tournament's top player, Kyle Morrison who shot 209 (-7), while the Roadrunners finished in second place with a team score of 874 (+10).

The Urban Knights hit the course again on March 8. Both the men and women will tee off in the three-day Cal State East Bay Invitational hosted by CSU East Bay at Hiddenbrooke Golf Club in Vallejo, CA.
