Men's Golf Holds on For Second at Dominican Invitational

FINAL RESULTS

San Rafael, CA--- Matt Garcia shot a one over par, 72, in his third and final round of the Dominican Invitational at Peacock Gap Golf Club to finish third out of 15 players and lead the Urban Knight men's golf team to a second place finish.

As a team the Urban Knights finished the tournament with a team score of 894,38 strokes behind leader Sonoma State University . Garcia led the Knights with a combined score of 216. In the small tournament with just three teams and 15 golfers, the Urban Knights took three of the top 10 spots.Erik Majzner's first and second round scores combined with the Urban Knights second lowest third round score secured his sixth place finish.

Stuart Favretto combined for a 226 over three rounds of golf and placed just two spots behind Majzner,  While Dave Carney shot his season low one under par (70) during his second round of play. On the whole Carney finished 11th and shot a combined 231 over three rounds.

The Urban Knights return to the green next Monday, March 22 for the two-day NDNU Invitational at Poppy Ridge Golf Club in Livermore, Calif., hosted by Notre Dame de Namur University.
