Sunday, March 21st at 11:00 and 1:00
Brisbane, CA - Mission Blue Field

Recap on the Road: The Urban Knights just returned from Hawaii where they faced Chaminade University and the University of Hawaii at Hilo. This was the start of conference play for the Knights, and they were challenged by two top teams in the PacWest. The Urban Knights were able to split the series with Chaminade going 2-2, but they were outplayed by the Hilo Vulcans and only went 1-3 in the series against them. AAU now sits in the middle of the PacWest rankings with a 3-5 record.

Leading the Urban Knights: Junior Ashley Lokey still leads the Knights with a .406 batting average with 32 hits, 16 runs, seven doubles, and one triple. She also leads with 15 walks, a .526 slugging percentage, and a .505 on base percentage. Junior Alana Aweau is also doing well with a .321 batting average with four home runs, and 19 runs batted in. Sophomore Sierrah Garcia has been solid in the circle for the Knights with a 3.04 ERA, a 9-4 record, and has recorded 92 strikeouts in 99 innings pitched.

Scouting Humboldt State: The Lumberjacks are at 500 on the season with an 11-11 overall record. Most recently the Jacks split a four game series against Chico State. They are led by Chrissy Stalf who has a .380 batting average with 27 hits, 11 runs scored, seven doubles, one triple, and one home run (second on team). Stalf has also nabbed 12 RBI's, 42 total bases, and a .592 on base average. The Lumberjack's ace is Vaneza Hoover who has a 2.16 ERA, and 50 strikeouts in over 71 innings pitched. Right behind her is pitcher Gracie Perez who has a 2.26 earned run average with a 4-3 record, and has 49 strikeouts in over 49 innings pitched. Last season the Urban Knights lost the four game series to Humboldt, three games to one. However, when the two teams faced each other during the fall, the Knights came out victorious over the CCAA powerhouse.

Looking Ahead: The Academy of Art University will continue their homestand into the following weeks when they resume PacWest conference play. They play BYU Hawaii on March 25-26th and then host Hawaii Pacific, who is ranked first in the PacWest and sixth in the NCAA national polls, on March 30th-31st. All dates will be double headers, and the Urban Knights will act as the visiting team in the second day of the series, per PacWest conference rules.
