Knights Have Four Players Named to PacWest Honor Roll

San Francisco, CA - The Urban Knights softball team had four players named to the Pacific West Conference Honor Roll for the week of March 22nd-30th. During that week, AAU defeated BYU Hawaii in all four games of their conference series. These four players were critical in the Knights' complete sweep against BYU Hawaii. The players who were named to the Honor Roll for their achievements on the field this past week were senior Shampayne Clay,  junior Alana Aweau, sophomore Sierrah Garcia, and freshman Kimberly Dauer.


Clay, (IF, San Leandro, CA), helped lead her team to their 4-0 week. In four games she hit a .615, and also led the league in hitting for the week. Clay went 8-13 with five runs scored, two home runs, and eight runs batted in. She posted a 1.077 slugging percentage and also had a .667 on base percentage.

Aweau, (IF, Fairfield, CA), batted .583 going 7-12 with a run, two doubles, and a home run. She also recorded four runs batted in, one walk, a sacrifice fly, and had two stolen bases. Aweau finished the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .571 on base rate.

Garcia, (P/OF, Los Banos, CA) was also instrumental in the Knights' 4-0 week. She finished the week with a 2-0 record including a shut out and two complete games. In two starts she posted a 1.00 ERA, allowed just two earned runs and a .146 batting average against her. Garcia also recorded 25 strikeouts in two games, and even set a single game, career, and school record with 16 strikeouts in one game.

Dauer, (P, Morro Bay, CA), also recorded a 2-0 record last week. She posted a 0.58 earned run average in two starts, and threw two complete games. She allowed just one run in 12 complete innings, and allowed just a .261 batting average against her. In her two games, Dauer struck out a total of 15 batters, and recorded a personal high of nine strikeouts in one game.
