Ewa Beach, HI --- After three rounds of golf at the Kapolei Golf Course Tuesday afternoon the Academy of Art men's golf team finished in the same position they did the previous year, sixth. However, this time around it was sophomore
Stuart Favretto who notched the Urban Knights highest ranking, finishing tied for seventh place and earning a spot on the All- PacWest First team.
As a whole the Urban Knights shot 309-309-299---917, their play on the third and final day catapulted them over host institution Hawaii Pacific University and Chaminade University for a sixth place finish.
Favretto, who finished just 12 strokes shy of first place Terence Daniels of Grand Canyon University, was the only Urban Knight to shoot par during one of three rounds of golf on the par-72 6977 yard course.
Favretto shot a 76-72-76--224 to tied his season low and place him tied for seventh place out of the 43 golfer field.
Despite shooting an individual tournament low 73 on the final day of play, defending individual champion
Matt Garcia was unable to secure back-to-back titles. With an overall 78-77-73--228 the sophomore from Burlingame, Ca would have to settle for a 15th place finish.
Dave Carney finishes up his Urban Knight career with his season best performance, the lone senior finished tied for 22nd out of the 43 golfer field, by shooting a season low 76-80-74---230.
Carney had the teams second lowest third round score, and a career low round.
