Final Results
San Rafael, CA --- The Urban Knights
defeated the Penguins of Dominican University
handily in a head-to-head tournament hosted by Dominican University. Despite adding seven strokes to their previous days score, the Urban Knights were able to best the Penguins by shooting 331-318---649 to that of Dominicans' 494-465---959.
Individually,
Crystal Superal nabbed her fourth first place finish of the season. The freshman shot a tournament low two over-par (74) during the final round of play to finish with a total round score of 154 (80-74).
Superal also tallied four birdies on the par-72 5792 yard Peacock Gap Golf Course.
Right behind her was teammate
Laura Huertas, who finished second overall.
Huertas added two birdies to the teams nine, and shot a 80-82---162. Despite
increasing her score by four strokes and dropping out of first place on day two (80-84),
Lyra Yoe's 164 was enough to secure a third place finish (which ties her lowest finish of the season).
Andrea Nieto and
Khadija Del-Lero rounded out the group with a fourth and sixth place finish respectively.
Nieto also tied her season lowest finish (fourth) by shooting 91-78--169. While
Del-Lero earned her lowest season finish (sixth) shooting 103-92---195.
The head-to-head tournament concludes the Academy of Art women's golf inaugural season.
