San Francisco, CA – Fall semester is just around the corner, and the Urban Knights are geared up for the start of a brand new year. With the news of entering Candidacy Year Two Status with the NCAA, the Academy of Art University athletics department takes one step closer to becoming full pledge NCAA Division II members. The fall sports campaign will mark the Urban Knights’ third year in existence.

Women’s soccer will kick things off for the Urban Knights’ fall sports by playing an exhibition game at Chico State on August 27th. The men’s team follows with their first official game on September 2nd at William Jessup University. Both team’s home games will take place at Boxer stadium, and will be featured as double headers with the men playing first. The men’s and women’s teams begin Pacific West Conference play at home on September 15th.
The highly anticipated women's volleyball team starts their fall campaign with a tournament that begins on September 2nd in Los Angeles, CA. They will continue to play in tournaments on the road until their first home game on September 17th against Bay Area conference rival Notre Dame de Namur. That home games marks the start of conference play for the women. All of the women's volleyball home games will be played at Kezar Pavilion.
Defending PacWest Champions, men’s cross country, along with the top notch women’s cross country team, are among the last of the fall sports to start their seasons. Both teams get things going on September 4th right here in San Francisco, with the challenging University of San Francisco Invitational. Although neither team is hosting a home contest this season, they will both be competing in and around the bay area in several different meets.
Both the men’s and women’s golf teams will be playing in a series of tournaments this fall. Although their official season is not until the spring, both teams will be competing for top golf rankings in the country and in the PacWest. Both the men and women start their fall seasons with a contest on September 19th at Sonoma State.
Although all of the sports will be well underway in their respected seasons, the actual first home games for the Urban Knights will take place on September 15th. The first home game will be a soccer double header against conference members Dixie State, starting at 12:30 pm.
