San Francisco, CA – Academy of Art University Head Basketball Coach Mark Sembrowich has announced the signing of two stand-out athletes for the 2010-2011 season. Both athletes come from winning programs and their skills will be a big asset to this year’s team. The signees include Keith Davis (Long Beach, CA/Humboldt State), and Czar Robotham (Las Vegas, NV/Bishop Gorman).
Davis, a 6-3 guard, will join the Urban Knights after two years of playing at Humboldt State. At Humboldt he helped lead his team to a 20-win season his sophomore year. In the 2009-2010 season, Davis played in 10 games, shooting 46.2 percent from the field and shooting 50 percent from behind the arc. Keith graduated from Long Beach Jordan High School where he was team MVP his senior year. He will major in Music for Visual Media at the Academy.
“Keith brings some experience having won at the collegiate level,” said Coach Sembrowich. “He also brings the experience to score. With his experience, he brings expectations to compete at a higher level of play.”
Robotham, a 5-11 point guard, joins ART U after an impressive career at Bishop Gorman High School. He was named to the All-League Sunset Conference Team, and was a team captain his senior year. Also during his senior year, he helped lead his team to a State Championship, averaging 10 points and five assists per game. Robotham was also named to the Bishop Gorman Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team. Czar will major in Advertising at the Academy of Art University.
“Czar brings leadership, headiness [game knowledge], and the passion to win. He also brings good skill to this team,” added Coach Sembrowich.
After impressive preparatory backgrounds, these two student-athletes will join the Urban Knights starting the 2010-2011 academic year.
