San Francisco, CA --- Academy of Art senior outside hitter Dan Yang (Beijing, China, Seward Community College) has been chosen to the first Pacific West Conference Volleyball Top 10 Honor Roll list.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Tuesday, Sept. 7, for matches contested from Sept. 2-5. Yang led the Urban Knights to a 2-2 week by being one of the top hitters in the conference over the weekend.

Yang ranked second for the week in the PacWest in points (64), points per game (4.57), kills (58) and kills per game (4.14). The senior ranked fourth in hitting percentage (.291). Yang's point total also included six block assists and a trio of aces.

Phooey started her 2010 season by knocking down a match-high 22 kills in the Urban Knights' loss to Northwood University on opening day of the Cal State LA/Cal Poly Pomona Tournament. The senior followed the performance with 16 kills in ART U's victory over Cal Poly Pomona, and 10 kills in their loss to #14 Cal State LA. Yang finished the weekend with another double digit kill performance (10) in the Knights win over Simon Fraser University.
