Play It Again: Cheng, Keanini Make PacWest Top 10

Phoenix, AZ -- Setter Melissa Cheng and outside hitter Leinani Keanini both earned PacWest Top 10 Honor Roll selections for the second consecutive week for their lone match of the week for the Knights, who defeated Notre Dame de Namur 3-1 in the season finale on Friday. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ on Monday, Nov. for games played Nov. 7 - Nov. 13.

Cheng averaged 13.00 assists per set to rank second in the league for the week, totaling 52 assists in the four-game set against the Argos. She also added seven kills, two total blocks, and nine digs for a solid all-around performance. Since being inserted into the lineup, she has averaged 9.53 assists per game, totaling 429 assists total. It marked the third Honor Roll selection of 2011 for Cheng, and the sixth of her career.

Keanini's Senior Night capped off a historic season for the libero-turned-attacker. Keanini set a program record for attempts in a four-game set, getting 64 chances at the net,and averaged 5.25 kills and 5.50 points per set, which ranked second for the week in both categories in the PacWest. She put up double-digit kills in her final nine matches, and a double-double in kills and digs in each of her final six matches. She also put up a rare 20-20 night, with her 21 kills and 29 digs, and led the PacWest with 7.25 digs per set. It was the third Honor Roll Selection of 2011 for Keanini, and the fifth of her career.
