Bush Garners Capital One Academic All-District Team Honor

2011 Capital One Academic All-District Volleyball Teams

San Francisco, CA -- Senior middle blocker Amy Bush was selected to represent Academy of Art University women's volleyball in this week's announcement of the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District Teams. Players were selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and recognized as the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Bush ended her 2011 season with a 10 kills, four block performance, and finishes her career as the all-time leader in hitting percentage. She has totaled the second-most kills in program history with 545. She also ends her tenure as the Knights' most prolific blocker, notching 39 solo blocks and 208 block assists.

Bush will graduate with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, and received a 2010-11 DII ADA Academic Achievement Award, as well as a selection to the 2010-11 PacWest Academic All-Conference Team. Also a 2010 All-PacWest Team Honorable Mention, Bush finishes school with a 3.72 GPA.

There are eight districts in all and three separate teams for NCAA Division I, II and III as well as a College Division, which includes NAIA, Canadian and junior colleges. District 8 includes the PacWest, California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Academic All-District First Team honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot. The Capital One Division II Academic All-American Team will be announced Nov. 30.
