Overton the First Knight to Make Honor Roll in 2011 for Basketball

Phoenix, AZ -- Sophomore guard William Overton, Jr. was named to the first PacWest Top 10 Honor Roll of the 2011-12 basketball season after posting back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts last week. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ on Monday, Nov. 14 for games played Nov. 4 - Nov. 13.

Overton averaged 16.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in the Carl's Jr. Mac Martin Invitational in Chico last week. He ranked eighth in rebounding and sixth in scoring for the week in the conference, and averaged 2.0 steals per game. Overton was also perfect from the foul line (10 for 10), led the Knights in scoring in both of their games, and was named to the Mac Martin All-Tournament Team for his efforts.

This marks the first time Overton has been named to the Honor Roll in 2011, and the sixth time in his career. He was named PacWest Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 28 last season, and was also named PacWest Freshman of the Year.
