Turlock, CA --- Cal State Stanislaus hosted the 36th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational April 10-12. The two day invitational took place at the 6,641-yard, par-72, Turlock Golf and Country Club in Turlock, CA. Through day two of the invitational it was
Stuart Favretto who once again led the Urban Knights on the links. Up against golfers from programs that rank within the Top 25 in the country, Favretto finished the tournament boasting a 75-70-74---219, to place tied for 12th.
The Cal State Monterey Otters posted a 6-under par 282 during the championship finale to finish four strokes ahead of host Cal State Stanislaus, who closed round one well ahead of the pack Monday evening. The top-ranked Chico State Wildcats finished in third place with an 884 three round score, while Sonoma State and (887) and Holy Names (893) rounded out the top five.
For the Urban Knights,
Erik Majzner carded an 80-78-77--235 to finished tied for 68th. Senior
Matt Garcia followed his first round scores of 78-80, with an 11-over par 83 to place tied for 88th in the 104 golfer field.
Carlos Nones shot an 83-85-77 --- 245 over 54-holes of gold, and teammate
Thomas Krepp finished with an 86-85-91--- 262.
As a team ART U improved one spot on the leaderboard, finishing day two of the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational in 18th place.
The Urban Knights' next challenge will come at the Pacific West Conference Championships held April 18-19.
