San Francisco, CA – In an announcement made by the Pacific West Conference on Tuesday afternoon, the Academy of Art University's women's tennis team had two players named to the 2011 All Pacific West Conference Second Team. After a successful season where the Urban Knights finished 5th in the PacWest Conference, the team received some recognition for their hard work and accomplishments over the year. Newcomer Kunkanda "Cartoon" Phukchampa, and senior Laone "Lala" Botshoma were the two Urban Knights players to receive the All PacWest Honors.
Phukchampa, a junior from Lampang, Thailand, was recognized by receiving second team honors in both singles and doubles play. In singles play, Cartoon finished the season with a 12-4 overall record, and an 11-1 record competing in the No.1 singles spot for the team.
