PHOENIX, AZ -- Not one, not two, but three Academy of Art volleyball players made the PacWest Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll for the week of Sept. 12-18 after sweeping two matches at Kezar Pavilion. Seniors
Amy Bush and
Camille Board both earned the selection, and freshman
Kawai Oleole earned her second selection in as many weeks. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ on Monday.
The Urban Knights (4-6) were led by those three in their dual sweeps of the William Jessup Warriors and the Lady Penguins of Dominican (CA). Bush recorded 18 kills and four errors in 37 attempts for a .378 hitting percentage, good for fifth in the conference. She amassed 22 total points, and ranked fourth in blocks per set (1.17) for the week. This marks Bush's second PacWest Honor Roll selection of her career, her first of 2011.
Camille Board, a senior from Redwood City, CA, ranked just above Bush for fourth in hitting (.381). Board led the conference in total blocks (10) with nine assists and one solo, and also topped the league in blocks per set (2.00). Camille totaled 18.5 points in five sets on 13 kills and 5.5 total blocks, earning her second career PacWest Honor Roll selection and first of 2011.
After earning her first PacWest Top 10 Honor Roll selection last week, Oleole added another one to her resume this week. She ranked third for the week in the PacWest in assist average (11.17) and totaled 67 assists in six sets against the Warriors and Penguins. Oleole ranks fourth for the year in the PacWest in assist average (9.44), and is now tied for first in total assists (368). It marks her second PacWest Honor Roll selection of both her career and of the 2011 season.
The Urban Knights will take on Dominican again in San Rafael on Saturday.
