PacWest Release
Phoenix, AZ -- A familiar trio made their almost regular appearance on the PacWest Men's Basketball Top 10 Honor Roll, as William Overton, Jr., Ameer Shamsud-din, and Czar Robotham were all selected. This marks the second time that all three have been selected. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Jan. 2, for games played Dec. 26 - Jan. 1.
Overton led the Urban Knights in scoring in their 91-82 win with a double-double, notching 23 points and 12 rebounds in the victory over The Master's. Overton had 14 points in the first half and also drew a couple key charges while spearheading the scoring effort. He also added two assists and a block in the contest. This is the fifth time that Overton has made the Honor Roll, and the tenth of his career.
Shamsud-din made his fourth Honor Roll selection after a 17-point performance in which he also dished out seven assists. Ameer has added to his PacWest leading 164 points, and still leads the conference in 3-pointers made with 21. He also added four rebounds and a steal in the win.
For Robotham, it was his third straight time making the PacWest Top 10 in weeks that the Urban Knights have been eligible, and his production has shot up in the past couple weeks. Against The Master's he put up another solid performance, scoring 15 points and handing out eight assists and shooting 66.7% from the floor and 7-of-12 from the line. Robotham also leads the PacWest in assists with 45 (4.1 per game).
The Urban Knights will start PacWest play this week against Dixie State on Tuesday and with a rematch against Cal Baptist on Thursday. Both games will be at Kezar Pavilion and start at 7:30 PM.
