Shamsud-din At Home At ART U, PacWest Honor Roll

PacWest Release

Phoenix, AZ -- Academy of Art transfer Ameer Shamsud-din has made himself comfortable in San Francisco, but has also made himself quite a home on the PacWest Top 10 Honor Roll, making it after a 28-point performance against Dixie State last Tuesday. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Jan. 2, for games played Dec. 26 - Jan. 1.

Shamsud-din made his fifth Honor Roll selection after a 28-point performance in which he also dished out eight assists. Ameer is still leading the PacWest in scoring, with 201 points already this season, and leads the league with 25 three-pointers made. He also has the season-high in scoring with 32 points against UC San Diego.

Ameer also gave out seven assists on Thursday against Cal Baptist, good enough to lead the conference in assist average for last week, and is quietly climbing the PacWest ladder in that regard, up to eighth place. Teammate Czar Robotham is in second right now, but Shamsud-din's 44 assists are right behind Robotham's 46. He connected on 5 of 6 from the free-throw line, and also hit 44% from beyond the arc last week.

The Urban Knights are in Hawaii, and will tip off against Hawaii-Hilo tonight before taking on the rest of the PacWest's Island Region, taking on Chaminade on Wednesday, BYU-Hawaii on Saturday, and and Hawaii Pacific a week from today.
