Phoenix, AZ -- Coming off a 1-1 week for ART U Men's Soccer, freshman
Jesus "Chava" Sanchez has earned a spot on the Pacific West Conference Weekly Fantastic 15. Sanchez highlighted the week by
scoring the Urban Knights' game-winning goal in their 1-0 win at Dominican. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ on Monday, Oct. 22 for games contested Oct. 15-21.
In Academy of Art University's rematch with Dominican on Oct. 18, Sanchez got his team on the scoreboard early with a goal in the seventh minute. His goal, which Sanchez netted off a deflection by the Penguins' goalie, would hold up the rest of the way, lifting ART U to victory. Two days later, the Lowell High School product fired three shots in a match at Fresno Pacific in which the Urban Knights were within striking distance nearly all 90 minutes.
Overall, Sanchez now has a team-high three goals with two game-winners. His six points rank second on the squad.
This is the the second PacWest weekly honor for Sanchez this season.
