Phoenix, AZ --
The PacWest Media Office in Phoenix announced their first five Women's Tennis PacWest Top 10 Honor Rolls of the 2012 season, and the Urban Knights were well represented on all applicable releases, with the highlight being Kunkanda "Cartoon" Phukchampa's selection as the fifth PacWest Player of the Week for matches played Feb. 27-March 4.

Phukchampa led the Urban Knights to a 3-0 week, including a victory over Division I Southern Utah on March 3, which was the second of three matches in a row won by the Knights at the Dixie State Tournament. She posted a 3-0 record at first singles and earned a 3-0 record at first doubles. It was her second ever Player of the Week honor, and the fourth career time on the PacWest Top 10.

In all, the Knights had six players combine for seven selections, with Daniela Amelunge Antelo making the Top 10 twice. Amelunge Antelo made her first Honor Roll of the year and of her career on the fourth edition of the PacWest Top 10, earning a doubles win against Cal State Stanislaus on February 26. She made it again the next week after posting a 5-0 record on the way to a 3-0 week for Academy of Art, getting three wins in the fourth singles spot and going 2-0 at second doubles.

On the first report, for matches played February 1-5, ART U was represented by Maria "Belen" Tenorio, who earned the lone win for the Knights against Fresno Pacific, a hard-fought three set battle that was scored 6-0, 5-7, 13-11. It was Tenorio's first selection of her career.

The fourth report also got Courtney DeWalt on the PacWest Top 10 Honor Roll for the first time. The sophomore teamed up with DeWalt to get that second doubles win against Stanislaus, and also earned her the first honors of her career.

Amal Ben El Hadj also earned a spot on the fifth report, going 6-0 in the Dixie State Tournament. The junior from Tunisia posted a 3-0 record at second singles and a 3-0 record at first doubles, teaming up with Phukchampa to earn the tournament sweep. It was the sixth selection of her career, the first of 2012.

Diane Phan made a triumphant return from injury to emerge from the Dixie State Tournament with some wins and a Top 10 Honor Roll selection under her belt as well. Phan turned in a 5-0 week, featuring a 3-0 record at third singles and a 2-0 record at second doubles. It was her fourth Honor Roll selection of her career, the first of 2012.

The Urban Knights will play again on Sunday against Cal State Stanislaus at the San Francisco Tennis Club.
