Phoenix, AZ -- The Urban Knights women's golf team finished their second tournament of the fall season and are truly starting to make a mark in their first year of eligibility. After a strong showing at the NCAA Fall Preview in Daytona, the Knights traveled to Phoenix and finished third among 17 participants, only 10 shots off the lead of the host school Grand Canyon. ART U had two players in the Top 10 finalists, as Crystal Superal dropped out of the lead spot but still hung on for a fourth-place finish and Andrea Nieto surged forward to tie for eighth place overall.

Cal State San Marcos leapfrogged the Knights in the standings to tie with Oklahoma Christian in second place, trailing host Grand Canyon who finished in first. Superal finished behind Charlotte Jaengkit (GCU) and Anna Arrese Cortadellas (Oklahoma Christian), who tied for first place, and Megan Woodland (Victoria University). Nieto's jump up three spots from 11th to 8th was the biggest move for the Knights on the day.

The Knights third-place finish helps set up their final competition of the fall later in October, as they'll head north to take part in the Sonoma State Invitational on October 22 and 23.
