Shamsud-din Adds Another PacWest Appearance

Phoenix, AZ -- Senior guard Ameer Shamsud-din continued his impressive tenure since transferring to the Academy of Art University with another solid performance in the Urban Knights tough 72-66 loss against Hawai'i Pacific last week, which earned him a selection to the PacWest Weekly Fantastic 15. The conference announced the award on Monday, Jan. 7, for games played Dec. 31 - Jan. 6.

Shamsud-din Drive
Shamsud-din totaled 22 points, four steals, three assists and three rebounds in the loss to the Sea Warriors. He shot 57.1% (8 for 14) from the field and 50.0% (2 for 4) from three-point range, while also going 4 for 4 at the line. It marked his fourth time this year going perfect from the charity stripe, and the third in his last five games, bringing him up to 78% on the season.

The Portland, OR, native now ranks sixth in the conference in scoring (15.7 ppg) and eighth in assists (3.5 apg). Shamsud-din has scored in double-digits in eight of the Knights ten games so far, and also just surpassed Hunter Hayden for third on the all-time scoring list for the Urban Knights, putting up 623 points in his career. He also passed the 100-assist mark for his career, which puts him second on the all-time list.

This marks Shamsud-din's fourth time on the PacWest Fantastic 15 this season, and the 14th of his career.
