PacWest Release #14

Phoenix, AZ -- In addition to breaking the all-time scoring mark on the school's career leader boards on Tuesday, Academy of Art University men's basketball player Ameer Shamsud-din continued to rack up the conference honors, earning another selection to the PacWest Weekly Fantastic 15. The conference announced the award on Tuesday, Feb. 19, for games played Feb. 11-17.

The senior guard averaged 17.5 points per game last week, including 24 points against Fresno Pacific on Feb. 16. The new Urban Knights leading scorer is also fifth in the conference at 17.1 points per game for the year, and has also scored in double figures in all but two games this year. He also averaged 5.5 assists per game for the week, tying a season-high with six dishes against Fresno Pacific, and is now averaging over four assists per game (4.1).

This marked the eighth selection of the season for Shamsud-din, and the eighteenth of his career.
