Pepiot took home first place out of 172 runners at the San Francisco State Invitational, leading Academy of Art to a sixth-place team finish overall. The win and weekly honor are the second for Pepiot this season.
Out of 172 runners competing at Golden Gate Park this past Friday, Oct. 10, Pepiot finished first overall to help his team take sixth place. The Frenchman contended with Luis Luna (unattached) and a host of Southern Oregon runners at the front of the pack all the way through, before using an impressive kick to take command of first place down the home stretch. Pepiot finished the race with a time of 24:53.1, winning by a six-second margin and was able to enjoy the moment with the excited crowd, high-fiving supporters as he crossed the finish line. Pepiot finished a full 11 seconds in front of the next NCAA Division II runner.
Pepiot and ART U return are back for their final meet of the regular season, the Bronco Invitational, before the PacWest Conference Championships are upon us the first week of November.
