Carmon Makes PacWest Final 5 Once Again

PacWest Release

Newport Beach, CA -- Urban Knights guard Alex Carmon continued his strong play as of late, and despite the Academy of Art being unable to convert his production into wins, Carmon has definitely caught some eyes, capturing his second straight appearance on the PacWest Men's Basketball Final 5. The list was announced Monday for games played January 27-February 2.

Carmon averaged 23.0 points and 8.0 rebounds for the Knights, who fell to Dixie State and Point Loma Nazarene University last week. The redshirt sophomore shot an astounding 18-for-20 from the free throw line for the week, going 8-for-8 en route to a 25-point performance against Dixie State.

Following that up with a 21 point game against Point Loma, Carmon is now averaging 18.1 points per game, almost four points better than the average that earned him PacWest Freshman of the Year last season. He has seven games with at least 20 points scored, including four of the last five for the Urban Knights. The game against Point Loma also included the second time this year that Carmon has entered double-digits from the free throw line, matching his output from the first game of the season against Cal State East Bay with 10 made from the charity stripe.

This marks Carmon's fourth time on the Final 5 this year, which included being named Player of the Week for the week of November 11.
