ART U Rises In Final Round At NDNU Invitational

2014 Notre Dame de Namur Argonaut Invitational Results (Final)

Livermore, CA – Academy of Art University Men's Golf moved up one spot in the final team standings of the NDNU Argonaut Invitational on Tuesday morning at Poppy Ridge Golf Course. Led by a strong third round from Cody Moore, the Urban Knights got themselves a seventh place finish overall.

"I'm proud of how Cody came back afternoon playing up to his potential in the first round," head coach Andy Moren said. "He showed a lot of maturity and growth as a player. Overall, the team still keeps progressing in my opinion. I think the long break between our next tournament will allow us to work on some of our weaknesses."

ART U's best final round went to Moore who shot a 72, one of the best scores on the team in all three rounds, and he would finish tied for 35th. Eugene Wang was the leader in a tie for 25th while Alberto "Dago" Esponda came in at 32nd individually. Dat Do and Tommaso Vielmo closed out the day with 42nd and 46th place results respectively.

The Urban Knights' team score on the final day was a 309 which led to their 918 overall. In seventh collectively, ART U topped William Jessup (930), Holy Names (934), Dominican (937), and NDNU (938). The top of the standings stayed true to their arrangement after day one as Chico State was firmly first overall, led by individual tournament champion Justin Wiles. Simon Fraser came in second followed by Sonoma State, Dallas Baptist, Cal State East Bay, and UH Hilo.

Academy of Art is next in action at the California Baptist Lancer Invitational at the Victoria Golf Course in Riverside, CA on Mar. 24-25.
