ART U Indoor Track Nets 20 All-Region Honors

New Orleans, LA -- With the close of the indoor season upcoming, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2013-14 Division II All-Region honorees. The top five individuals in each event from each region earned the All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top three relay teams.

The Urban Knights had six individuals combine for 12 All-Region honors on the men's side. Newcomer Jordan Edwards led the Knights with four honors, earning recognition for his performances in the 60 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, and the 4x400m relay. Jumper Johnny Carter snagged the honors for the long jump and the triple jump, while sophomore Shaquille Howard brought home honors for the 400 meters and the 4x400m relay. Ronald Spears, Jr. also earned a pair of honors in the 60 meters and the 4x400 relay, while Alexander McNally (4x400m) and Geno Simmons (triple jump) each earned honors as well.

Five ART U women earned eight honors in the indoor season, headlined by their 4x400m relay team. Keanna Moody (4x400m, 400m), Dinesha Bean (200m, 60m hurdles), and Mistic Scott (4x400m, 400m) each earned a pair of honors. Dierra Haven and Dominique Berry, both part of that 4x400m relay team, also earned the All-Region nod.

The Knights will head to the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships next weekend at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
