85 Knights Earn 2013-14 PacWest Academic Honors

2013-14 Pacific West Academic All-Conference Team

San Francisco, CA –
A total of 85 Academy of Art University student-athletes were named to the 2013-14 Pacific West Conference Academic All-Conference Team in an announcement by the conference media relations office on Tuesday, July 8. Based on performances in the classroom over their cumulative collegiate career, 1,600 athletes from the conference's 14 member institutions earned the distinction.

For student-athletes to be chosen for the honor, they must meet a set of specific criteria. The requirement to be named to the Academic All-Conference Team is a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Student-athletes who are eligible to practice or compete with their respective teams are eligible to receive the honor.

The winners of the award represented each of the Academy of Art University's 14 sports which are sponsored by the PacWest Conference. Women's Soccer continued their success in the classroom with 14 representatives while Softball and Volleyball each added 11 artist-athletes to the list.

"It is great to see that we have increased the amount of student-athletes on the PacWest All-Academic team," Director of Athletics Colin Preston said. "We will continue to strive for academic excellence at ART U. Congrats to all of our artist-athletes!"
