IRVINE, Calif. — The Academy of Art University men's basketball team collected two Pacific West Conference Player of the Week awards Monday with senior guard
Alexis Moore being named PacWest Defensive Player of the Week and freshman guard
Jase Harrison being named PacWest Freshman of the Week for the week of Jan. 12-18.
Â
Moore averaged 4.0 steals and 6.0 rebounds in two road games last week against two of the PacWest's best teams in Azusa Pacific and Point Loma. Moore tied a single-game Academy of Art record Monday at No. 14 Azusa Pacific with a career-high six steals. The veteran also had back-to-back 20-point games last week and notched a double-double against APU with 11 boards.
Â
Harrison got his first career start Wednesday at Point Loma and scored a season-high 16 points on 6-for-10 shooting, including 2-for-3 from beyond the 3-point arc. He also logged a season-high four steals while the Urban Knights tallied 12 total takeaways.
Â
The Defensive Player of the Week nod is Moore's second PacWest award of the season after earning PacWest Co-Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 10-16 after helping lead the Knights to an upset win at then-No. 22 Seattle Pacific in their Nov. 15 season opener. It is Harrison's second Freshman of the Week recognition after picking up the award for the week of Nov. 24-30.
Â
The Urban Knights have earned six weekly PacWest awards this season in five different weeks across the first nine weeks of the season, winning each award (Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week, Freshman of the Week) at least once.

ART U begins a five-game home stand at 7:30 p.m. Monday versus PacWest opponent Chaminade.
