ART U Closes Out Fall Season At Otter Invite

2015 Otter Invitational Results (Final) - Individual | Team

SEASIDE, Calif. – Battling teams such as No. 2 Chico State and No. 5 Nova Southeastern, ART U men's golf finished 15th overall at the Otter Invitational through 54 holes of the Cal State Monterey Bay Otter Invitational on Tuesday at Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Course.

"Today, our guys contended with one of the strongest fields we'll face all year and I was happy with the team's progression from its first tournament to the last this fall," said head coach Andy Moren.

Sophomore Oskar Frick remained Academy of Art University's top finisher, shooting a 73 (+2) through the final round to finish tied for 15th place with a 218 (71-74-73). He was followed by freshman Jose Lopez Butron's 227 (71-76-80) in a tie for 50th and senior Cody Moore tied for 69th after shooting a 231 (74-75-78). Senior Dat Do offered his best round of the fall season with a 76 good for 78th and a 233 (78-79-76).

Chico State came away with the team title by four strokes over Nova Southeastern, however, it was NSU's Richard Mansell who maintained his place atop the standings for the individual title. ART U finished 15th overall, besting UC San Diego, Dixie State, and Saint Martin's by a healthy 16+-stroke margin.

With their fall season complete, the Urban Knights will have a full three months off from competition before returning to action on Feb. 8-9 for the Cal State San Marcos Cougar Invite.
