IRVINE, Calif. — After only dropping two sets in 42 total played against two nationally ranked teams, senior Jenny Johansson was named the Pacific West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week Wednesday for the week of Feb. 16-22.
 
Johansson won both of her singles and doubles matches on the week for then-No. 14 Academy of Art, one of just two unbeaten teams remaining in the PacWest. She beat No. 23 Sonoma State's Hillary Fazekas and No. 27 Cal State Stanislaus' Ebone Qualls both in straight-sets, 6-0, 6-0. She also teamed with Lucia Zavarcikova to win two No. 2 doubles matches 8-0 and 8-2.
 
Johansson 3-0 in singles this spring with three 6-0, 6-0 sweeps. She is also 3-0 at the No. 2 doubles position with teammate Zavarcikova.
 
The Urban Knights take on two NCAA Division III opponents this week when they travel to UC Santa Cruz to face the Banana Slugs on Friday and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in a neutral site match Saturday.
