42nd Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational Final Results

TURLOCK, Calif. — The wind and cold tried its best Tuesday to knock down the Academy of Art University men's golf team during the final round of the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational, but the Urban Knights still climbed the leaderboard to finish 12th at Turlock Golf and Country Club.
 
ART U began the day in a tie for 13th after two rounds. The team was in a tie for third after Monday's first round, but heat affected the entire field in round two as 14 of 18 teams posted higher scores. Academy of Art equaled or bettered six teams on Tuesday in tough wind and cool temps to climb a spot and finish with a 934 (+70) team score. Cal State Monterey Bay won the team title with an 880 (+16).
 
Junior Dat Do grabbed his fifth top-30 finish of the 2014-15 season with a three-round 228 (+12) to tie for 20th. Senior Alberto "Dago" Esponda finished tied for 35th at 231 (+15). Both players shot 78 on Tuesday. Senior Eugene Wang tallied 234 (+18) to tie fir 51st with an 81 (+9) on Tuesday. Freshman Oskar Frick was ART U's fourth scorer with a 241 (+25) after an 85 (+13) in the final round to tie for 72nd. Junior Tommaso Vielmo also competed for the Urban Knights and tied for 92nd after posting a 259 (+43) for the tournament.
 
Academy of Art now prepares for the 2015 Pacific West Conference Championship, which will be hosted by Dixie State on Monday-Wednesday at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah.
