UCLA Legends Invitational
SF State Distance Carnival
LOS ANGELES – Making their debut at UCLA's Legends Invitational, Academy of Art University track & field had a solid showing with Keanna Moody's performance in the 400m hurdles taking the spotlight.
Moody was strong in her seven-hurdler heat and put forth a 1:00.06 as a new personal record for second place overall. She was runner-up to Kaulyn Lee-McNeil of Division I UC Irvine and represented her division well as the only one from NCAA DII. The mark is second on the ART U all-time list as well as an NCAA Nationals provisional qualifier. She is now fourth in the country in DII.
Later in the women's 4x400m relay, Moody would team with Mistic Scott, Schae Graham, and Atiya Harvey for a second place finish. Several of those individuals would compete in other events as well with Harvey in the 200m and Scott contesting the 400m.
On the men's side, the 4x100m relay was won by the combination of Marlon Britton, Alexander McNally, Jordan Edwards, and Shaquille Howard. They went 40.72 to pace all teams.
Howard also displayed his skills in the 400m where he claimed first out of 12, going 47.29 to top several NCAA DI competitors. Britton was in the same boat in the 110m hurdles where he placed fourth overall.
SAN FRANCISCO – After many of the distance runners had competed on Friday, Kayla Pritchett was the lone Urban Knight in action at the SF State Distance Carnival on Saturday. She went up against 40 others in the 400m and placed 20th.
ART U will be at Arizona State's Sun Angel Track Classic next weekend (Apr. 11) in Tempe, Ariz.
