2015 USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field All-Region TeamNEW ORLEANS -- Following the conclusion to the 2015 outdoor regular season this past weekend and with the countdown begun to NCAA Division II Nationals, Academy of Art University Track & Field was awarded total of 26 All-Region honors as announced by the nation's foremost track and field organization on Monday. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded All-Region to the top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three, giving the Urban Knights men's squad 14 honors (six individuals) and 12 (six individuals) from the women's side.
Putting an exclamation point on his final regular season as a collegiate,
Jordan Edwards led the way for the men as one of three men in the entire country to earn five honors. Edwards claimed All-Region in with top marks in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, and 4x400m. Representing Academy of Art with three honors was
Shaquille Howard (400m, 4x100m, 4x400m) followed by two each for
Marlon Britton (110m hurdles, 4x100m) and
Alexander McNally (4x100m, 4x400m).
Valentin Pepiot (1500m) and
James Steptoe (4x400m) were also among the list for ART U.
The women were highlighted by five All-Region selections for
Keanna Moody, who emerged in the 200m, 400m, 400m hurdles, 4x100m and 4x400m.
Mistic Scott followed with three honors (400m, 4x100m, 4x400m) and one came for each of the other relay members including
Schae Graham (4x400m),
Atiya Harvey (4x400m),
Amanda Odesjo (4x100m), and
Chante Sneed (4x400m).
The Urban Knights will be in action at the 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships in Allendale, Michigan next week on May 21-23.
