IRVINE, Calif. – A total of 89 Academy of Art University student-athletes were named 2014-15 Academic All-Pacific West Conference in an announcement by the conference media relations office on Tuesday, June 23. Based on performances in the classroom over their cumulative collegiate career,
1,488 athletes from the conference's 13 member institutions earned the distinction.
All student-athletes chosen for the Academic All-PacWest honor met a set of specific criteria including a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and eligible to practice or compete with their respective teams.
The award winners represented each of the Academy of Art University's 14 sports which are sponsored by the PacWest Conference. For the third consecutive year, women's soccer led the way with 14 representatives while men's soccer, softball, and volleyball each added 10 artist-athletes to the list.
"It is exciting to see our largest number of student-athletes named Academic All-PacWest this year," said Director of Athletics

The PacWest is now scheduled to choose a Scholar-Athlete of the Year for each of its 15 sports. Institutions have been presented with an opportunity to nominate one student-athlete from each of its athletic programs. These individual winners will be announced on Thursday of this week.
