PacWest Conference Runners of the Week (Sept. 15)

IRVINE, Calif. -- Following an impressive finish at the Urban Knights' second meet of the season, the Ash Creek Invitational hosted by Western Oregon, senior Valentin Pepiot garnered his first Pacific West Conference Runner of the Week honor of 2015. The award was based on all conference member competitors in races Sept. 7-13.

Pepiot finished fourth overall out of 150 runners and completed the 6.3k course in 18:15.2, just one tenth of a second behind the third place finisher. He battled a contingent of five Chico State runners around him, delivering an average mile time of 4:39.8. In the end, his performance helped Academy of Art place fifth as a team.

This is the fourth PacWest weekly honor for Pepiot in his career and the first by an Urban Knight this season.
