PacWest Conference Runners of the Week (Sept. 29)IRVINE, Calif. -- For the second consecutive season,
senior Valentin Pepiot had his first breakout performance of the year at the Stanford Invitational this past Saturday and has earned Pacific West Conference Runner of the Week once again as a result. The award was based on all conference member competitors in races Sept. 7-13.
Out at the Stanford University Golf Course on
Sept. 26, Pepiot got into the front of a pack that featured nearly 300 total runners from numerous elite-level programs and finished the 8k at fourth overall with a time of 23:53.2. He would make a strategic move down the stretch to pass the top two runners from NCAA Division I Cal Poly. The performance was reminiscent of
last year when he earned USTFCCCA National Runner of the Week following the 2014 Stanford Invitational.This is the fifth PacWest weekly honor for Pepiot in his career and his second this season.
